Pinhole Photo Lesson for 1
the ultra analog experience--take a pinhole photograph and create a darkroom print
Service Description
Experience the purity of lensless-photography and the magic of creating a print in the darkroom. No previous experience required. After welcoming you to Armature Art Space, I will start you with a brief lesson about pinhole photography and explain how the wooden 4x5 pinhole camera works. We will load black and white 4x5 film in the darkroom then visit the park half a block away or somewhere else nearby, if you prefer. Taking the photograph is your time to shine. Thinking about your long exposure, you will look for light, points of interest, movement, and decide whether to appear in the photograph. You will select your views and operate the pinhole camera, taking two photographs. We will return to the darkroom to develop the sheet film and make two contact prints (one for each photo taken) on black and white photo paper. While your film is washing and drying, we can have a well-deserved espresso. You can check out my old school rap record collection and we can scratch records on the turntables. You will keep your negatives and your successful contact prints. With this experience, you will gain foundational darkroom knowledge and a feel for how photography began. *Bragging rights!*
